   I’m a HUGE fan of your writing, and I’ve cited you many times in my own blogging.

   For me, the question is less about the “discovery” of the individual in medieval times, but rather, how in the hell did we ever lose it? After all, it’s the innate nature of all creatures to concentrate primarily on survival and prosperity, and the ability to procreate. Our cerebral cortex of course makes us unique, but did we simply out-think our very nature to create these authoritarian forms of government?
